We had sucessfully achived to get purity of Pure Lead upto 99.985%.

Our R & D is working to strip Bismuth from 300 PPM to below 50 PPM, without much loss of metrial in the form of Dross.

We are also trying to increase recovery rate of rotary furnace by deployment of Oxy-Fuel technologies.

Lead Alloys

Antimonial Lead

Antimony which is alloyed with lead to make grid and spine is the fundament additive which has contributed to number of metallurgical properties such as (1) Increase of hardness and tensile strength (by precipitation age hardening system) (2) Higher melt fluidity (3) Superior castability (4) Higher stabilization of lead di oxide through ionic migration of SB3+ and SB5+ ion to negative plate.

Lead Antimony Binary system has eutectic melting point 253 deg c with 11.1 % antimony by weight. Traditionally battery industry used to have 5- 11% antimony.

Around 60 s. Then came the saga of low maintenance properties of batteries as a result of which antimony was brought down to 2.5% with addition of selenium as grain refiner the alloy was termed Grain Size Modified Alloy. The Industry further reduced antimony to 1.6% by weight to achieve Maintenance Free properties of battery (I,e no topping up during life of the battery).

Bindal Smelting with years of hands on experience in Battery Plant Grid Casting perfected the metallurgical techniques specially the dispersion of alloying elements specially Selenium required for crack free gravity cast auto grids in the shop floor with optimal casting speed around 13-15 auto castings per minute.

We manufacture strictly as per the given specifications by the customer.

Calcium Lead Alloy

In journey towards Maintenance Free Alloy realization soon came through hard core field experience that Maintenance Free Properties are not fully achievable through low antimony alloy. Some degree of poisoning to negative plate by antimony migrating to negative plate affects hydrogen over-voltage leading to more water loss than desired. Hence came the alloying additive Calcium in lead and as a whole an alloy completely antimony free.

Today Calcium Lead is being largely deployed for all MF as well as VRLA Batteries.

Bindal Smelting has master minded the art to making dross free stabilized lead calcium tin alloy of any customer required specification. The Company is prepared for any alloy in Calcium family from high to low calcium along with its combination of Tin and Alumunium. Even the Company has acquired a new-state-of-art Technology of Calcium alloy with special dopant like Barium or Sodium as required by the customer at competitive price.

We manufacture strictly as per the given specifications by the customer.
